QED Waste Management Solutions supply 2 static waste compactors
Up to May 2004, Parker Hannifin Ltd were disposing of virtually all their waste to landfill, except for cardboard which was being recycled. 3 x 6.1 cu.mtr containers were collected daily, containing general waste including high volumes of filter paper. An opportunity arose to review the way in which the waste was handled, with the result that the filter paper was found to be of such a quality that recycling was an option.
The recycler required that the filter paper was fed into a static waste compactor, ready for collection. A view was then taken that general waste might also be fed into a seperate static wastecompactor, and a cost effectiveness exercise proved that considerable savings could be made. A decision was made that the waste compactors should be fitted with an automatic side loader, which would lift and empty 1100 litre Eurobins full of waste.
A colour coded system was implimented whereby the Eurobins were finished in two seperate colours, matching the compactors. The filter paper being loaded into blue bins for the blue compactor, and general waste into green bins for the green compactor. This change in their waste management procedures is very succesful, and a worthwhile investment in the new equipment supplied by QED Waste Management Solutions.
